Terms of use

Summary

• Synklink is free. You may use it on a phone and a Mac that you own or are allowed to use.
• You need a Google account to sign in, and you must be at least 13, or older where your country requires it.
• Use it lawfully: do not attack the service, other people’s accounts or devices, and do not abuse feedback or reviews.
• Synklink is early software and is provided as it is. Keep your own copies of anything important.
• How we handle your data is in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Synklink (“we”, see Contact). They cover the Android and Mac apps, your Synklink account, the service behind them, and this website. By installing the apps, signing in or using the website, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Synklink.

Who can use Synklink

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age to use online services without a parent’s consent where you live, if that is higher. If you use Synklink for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

Your account

After pairing, the phone asks you to sign in with your Google account. Google’s own terms apply to that account. You are responsible for what happens under your Synklink account and for keeping your phone and your Google account secure. Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.

You can sign out at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account as described in the privacy policy.

Your licence to use the apps

We give you a personal, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Synklink apps on devices you own or control, for as long as you follow these terms. We, and our licensors, keep all rights in the apps, the service, this website and the Synklink name and marks.

The apps include open‑source components that come with their own licences; those licences apply to those components.

Acceptable use

When you use Synklink, do not:

• use it to break the law, or to access, control or read a device you are not allowed to;
• try to get into other people’s accounts or data, or get around limits, security or pairing;
• overload, scan or attack our servers, or use automated means to reach them other than through the apps;
• send feedback or reviews that are unlawful, abusive, misleading or not your own, or that contain other people’s personal data;
• sell, rent or redistribute the apps, or remove their notices.

If you find a security problem, please tell us privately (see Contact) instead of using it.

Your devices and permissions

Synklink works only with the permissions you grant, such as Android’s accessibility access for clipboard sharing. You choose which to grant and can take them back at any time; some features stop working without them.

The Android app is installed from this website, not from Google Play, and installs its own updates. Only install it from this website or from inside the app.

Controls such as volume, brightness, locking, sleep, restart and shut down act on your devices. You are responsible for using them carefully; restart and shut down ask you to confirm.

Feedback and reviews

You keep what you write. By sending feedback you allow us to use it to run and improve Synklink, without owing you anything for it.

If you ask for a rating to be shown on this website, you allow us to publish it, with the name you choose, for as long as it stays published. We may decline, edit only to remove personal data, or remove any review. You can withdraw yours at any time.

Updates and changes to Synklink

We may update, change or stop any part of Synklink. The apps update themselves, and an old version may stop working when a newer one is required. We may also limit or suspend the service to keep it secure or working. If we stop Synklink altogether, we will say so here and in the apps first.

Other services

Synklink relies on services run by others, such as Google for sign‑in and Cloudflare for our backend (the full list is in the privacy policy). Their own terms apply to them, and we are not responsible for them.

No warranty

Synklink is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error‑free, compatible with every device, or that anything sent through it will arrive. Clipboard text and other data may be lost; keep your own copies of anything important. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profits, or damage to devices from using Synklink. Because Synklink is free, our total liability to you for anything arising from these terms or the service is limited to 100 US dollars. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Ending your use

You can stop using Synklink at any time by uninstalling the apps and, if you wish, asking us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk, and we will tell you why unless the law or security prevents it. The sections on feedback, no warranty and limitation of liability continue after your use ends.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the new version appears here with a new effective date. If a change matters to how you use Synklink, we will also tell you in the apps before it applies. Using Synklink after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

The law that governs these terms, and where disputes are heard, will be published here together with the operator’s details. Until then, nothing in these terms takes away the protection of the law of the country where you live.
